The Youth Music Movement’s goal is to record young bands across Canada for free with a mobile recording studio. Then, with these songs, they want to produce an album benefiting the Simple Plan Foundation.
The project is currently in the running for a Pepsi Refresh Everything grant. In order to make the album happen, we need your help! It’s been awhile since we’ve added some new pics to the site (we know, we know), so while the guys are in the studio working hard to make THE BEST ALBUM EVER, we wanted to add some nice new pics for you guys to check out. What’s up everyone?
As I’m writing this the guys are finishing up their show in Levis Quebec. The crowd was amazing, so much love and energy. The guys couldn’t have been happier. They also want to give you the heads up on what has been going in the last few days and what’s to come, as they love keeping the greatest fans in the world in the loop.
Last Monday, the guys flew back to Vancouver, but this time, they went to record drums. In less than a week, they were done and sound amazing!!
After the weekend, the guys will enter the studio again, but this time in Montreal, to start recording guitars and bass. Jeff, Seb and David have been itching to record their parts and its here where the songs will really come alive and what you guys and girls have all been waiting for. The guys will continue to bring you vlogs, blogs and news from the studio as they record the 4th album in the next few weeks. So keep coming back to the site for more updates.
Yesterday the guys boarded a flight straight to the studio in Vancouver to begin pre-production on album #4! The guys are super stoked to finally be back in the studio again. As you know, sp.com is the place to get all the scoops first so here’s one for you: for album #4, the band will be teaming up with producer Brian Howes, who has worked with Boys Like Girls, Daughtry, Hedley, Hinder and tons more.
So what exactly is happening during pre-production? Well, there are over 65 songs written and demo-ed for the album, way more than they ever wrote before for any of the previous albums. Now the guys are looking at all the songs to make sure sure they are good to go, and narrowing down the list of songs they want to record.
The guys will spend the next week in Vancouver before they head off to China. Once they return, it’s back to the studio to begin recording drums and the first notes of the album!
