There's nothing short about the awesome job Simple Plan do on their Twitter and social networks - which is exactly the reason why they're in the running for a Shorty Award!! What's a Shorty? It's only the coolest award recognizing the best in social media as voted by you!
The guys are currently in 9th place for "Best Band in Social Media", and to secure a nomination they need your help to take a spot in the Top 6. Until February 10th, you can vote for Simple Plan by clicking right here. Voting is open to everyone, so be sure to tell your friends, follwers and mum to vote all day, every day.
Don't forget to include the reason why you're voting for SP in your tweet, it's your chance to tell SP (and all your followers) why you think they rule the social universe!
If you weren't able to make it down to the Bell Centre in Montreal last weekend to catch the free Simple Plan show, you definitely missed out despite the freezing temps! Luckily, the fine folks at CBC and Hockey Night In Canada captured it for you to enjoy over and over again!
Chuck also let CBC Music in on his favourite things about hockey and NHL moments - check out the video and read on!

Hey #SPFamily! As you may have heard, Simple Plan are putting together a very special video for “This Song Saved My Life”, a song that you guys helped write! Just last weekend, the band gathered a bunch of awesome live footage, but need your photos and videos to make it complete. There’s two ways that you can get involved, no matter where in the world you live!
1) Film a video of you and/or your friends singing along to your favourite verse or the chorus “This Song Saved My Life” in front of an iconic backdrop or hometown landmark (London’s Big Ben? Singapore’s Merlion? Corcovado Mountain in Brazil?). You can also shoot your video from your rooms or a personal place that is special to you.
2) Take a photo of yourself with your favourite lyrics from “This Song Saved My Life” written in an expressive manner (you can totally get creative here!)
The important info:
You must record a video statement at the beginning of your submission stating your name and age, and allow the producers of the video for “This Song Saved My Life” permission to use your images in the video compilation.
Films must be formatted in .mov or .mp4. HD quality (1920x1080 px) is preferred and your video MUST NOT be more than 1 minute long (100 mb limit).
All submissions must be received by December 21, 2012, so get crackin’ and you could see yourself in the next Simple Plan video!
There's only fifteen days left until Simple Plan play their very first show in India at Mumbai's Mood Indigo IIT Bombay festival!
Rolling Stone India can't hide their excitement either, they've already talked to Pierre about the band's upcoming debut in India and the beauty of having young and older punk-rock fans.
Just a couple of weeks ago, it was revealed that Simple Plan swept away the vote for Yahoo! Canada's Awards in the Canadian Impact category, for their work and passion towards assisting youth through the Simple Plan Foundation.
While the guys were in Toronto this past weekend, Chuck and Sebastien sat down with Yahoo! Canada to talk about some amazing people they've met through the SPF, how the band keeps the Foundation moving forward and how you can get involved!
Did you see this one coming at all?
