    I think SP should try not to be pop. It sucks and they're first and 2nd cds were good but they next were really pop and Pierres voice is great and he dont need sound effects. js

I think that isn't so much their fault. I can't remember how someone said it but basically "This song saved my life" was their only personally made song if you will. However, the thing I love about SP is that they really don't have a category. Just look at all of their songs. Not sure if "Just around the corner" was ever released but it sounds very country-like. Some sound rock, hip-hop, even techno. They aren't limited within bounds of a "genre" which is why they are amazing. That and their lyrics relate to anyone and everyone.

As for the sound effects I totally agree. To me I hate sound effect in singing. Echo is ok but even that gets me some times.

umm i think this thought cross my mind often like "hmm the music is kinda like soft or pop-pier" like in NPNHJB and SNGA its like "pop-PUNK" then now its more "POP-punk" or whatever,yeah and maybe because of influence...idk maybe cos the sound of THAT kind of music kind of like a trend and more popular so they feel the need to be like that...
but i think if they bring back the 90's-early 2000's era it'll be awesome =)
like the way they choose their outfit is also different and their hair well but that maybe what they would call mature so whatever,
i think im babbling haha...so just ignore if this doesn't make any sense and sorry =S
But i still love them okay peace

Kay...I don't understand how you can think No Pads was not "pop" then...cuz GYHO is the closest sounding album to that they have put out since. And I think they have ALWAYS been marketed as a pop-punk band...hence the pop...and the punk elements!

I agree with you, simplebouvierfan.
Their last album wasn't good at all. The songs have no connection to each other what so ever. It's just a very simple album I feel like they made just to have a chance to get on MTV (especially Summer Paradise and all the collabarations). It feels like the songs are forced, like they were thinking "ok, let's do a poppunk album and try our hardest to make it really sound like poppunk". It would've turned out so much better if they did it like the selftitled album where they tried new stuff and the songs on that album really have a beautiful connection and they share the same sound throughout the album.

it dosnt really matter what they are, i agree their more recent stuff does have a bit of a pop sound to it but no matter how you look at them, they will always be our favourite group of immature rock stars who have changed the hearts and lives of millions of people from the beginning to now and hopefully in years to come :)

You know if I didn't like them I wouldn't be on their website talking trash about them. They are my favourite band and I was explaining that they have more pop things, it dosn't mean they suck. In my opinion they sounded better without the sound effects. But I still really truely honestly love them.

Okayy maybe that's what you think. But honestly I still really like them, bt that's just me. I think that their songs are better now. They used to make songs for their fans, but now their songs are literally FOR the fans...if you know what I mean. Like This Song Saved My Life. It really has a meaning and can help people with life!
