How I became addicted to Simple Plan

That was back in 2003, in Fall.

I was listening to Avril Lavigne (used to be her fan and wanted to be just like her, buuut then she died her hair and kinda sold herself...), after that -  some random rock/pop rock/punk rock/and stuff music on yahoo!music back then. Going through lots of videos, skipping songs I didn't like. And with the music, playing in the background, I just chilled out in my room. Also, I drew a picture. : )

Suddenly I heard the first notes of "Addicted". For some reason I was SOOO AMAZED! <3 I watched the video with my eyes wide open, listened to the song and loved it with all my heart.

The song finished and because of the concentration on the song, I didn't see the name of the band or the song. I tried to find it again, but it wasn't easy.

I think I've found it the second day, after searching for a while. But this time I saw the name of the band and the song. Loved them both. Checked Their other songs. Found lots of information about the members. Heard the other songs and got them all on my mind. I just couldn't stop listening to Them...They all seemed (and still do!) so honest, simple, caring, talented, beautiful, smart, intelligent, creative and amazing guys... They've became that people I'd take as an example.

I was 7 years old when I first heard Them, now I'm 15. And I still am a HUGE fan. I have Their CD's, the DVD, I am a member of SPcrew. I've seen Them live twice, 2006.01.23 in Denmark and 2008.11.10 in Poland. Sadly, I won't be able to see Them on the 3th of June. :<

I still keep missing Them a lot... And thinking about Them every day. Sure, there were some ups of being Their fan (like fanaticism) and downs (like not listening to Them that much), but Simple Plan is still my favorite band for more then 8 years and I'm pretty sure They'll stay the best for me.

I wish I will see Simple Plan soon again.

It was 2003, I was 13 years old and in 8th grade. I had just watched the movie "The New Guy" at a friends house and I heard I'm Just A Kid and watched the music video to find out who sang the song. As I watched the music video I fell in love with Simple Plan...well mainly Pierre, but also the band as a group. I found their music online and listened to the first cd, No Pads, No Helmets, Just Balls, and fell instantly loved the rest of their songs. I told my mom about them and she was very hesitant about them at first, but then fell in love with them just like I did. I went to see them for the first time in April of 2004 in Phoenix, AZ (I was still in 8th grade), then again in 2006 in San Diego, CA (with Straylight Run, Mae, and Plain White T's (before they were famous)), and then a 3rd time in 2007 in San Diego, CA with Paramore and Plain White T's. It's been about 8 years and I'm still a dedicated fan. I have the cd's, the dvd, posters, shirts, pins...I Love them! It's been about 4 years since I last went to a SP concert, but it feels longer than that. I hope I get to see them again soon! :)

I don't know if it was before that... but since I saw Addcited and Perfect on TV I was obsessed! I was 10 and in like 4th-5th grade... I remeber inviting my friend over and watch MTV for hours so I could show her the video of Perfect, wich was the one they were playing more at that time haha. I discovered them that way and kept on loving them with all my heart, then I became a teenager and loved them even more haha. My room looked pretty much like the GYHO cover, SP posters all around the room and also in the furniture. They were also my first real concert on 2005. I had a stage when I thought I was old for everything I was obsessed with back then, but then realized that I felt the same way when I listened to their songs and now I'll see them for the 2nd time in November :)

I think everyone has a great history of Simple Plan! I'm glad you came into my life, when you hear the song "Perfect" loved it, but it was then when I fell in love with them, when came on video "Welcome to my life" was when I fell in love with Pierre, and since that time I am your fan!
I love Simple Plan ....
I'm a fan SP

Pretty much the same as you! I was a huge fan of Avril and I heard they were opening for her, and I heard them in 2002. I saw them live in 2003.

I can´t remember how I became addicted. But I know, when I saw them the first time. It was in the movie "New York minute" but I thought that would be only a fictional music group.
However, I love their music.

It was after Still Not Getting Any came out. Became obsessed with Welcome To My Life and then discovered some of their stuff from NPNHJB. At this stage still wasn't a 'fan' just loved those songs. Then in 2008 When I'm Gone became like the king of all songs for me and now with GY?O omg I am addicted to them!!:D They are just amazing and I will be a life long fan guaranteed!! Their shows are just awesome and I love how their songs are easy to relate to and how you get a sense of not being alone in what you're feeling or going through and how listening to them just lifts you up and makes you feel better when you're down. Pierre, David, Chuck, Jeff and Sebastien...you guys are awesome. Thank you so much, keep up the fantastic work, you guys rule:)

I used to listen to Avril Lavigne too, haha. Sadly I have no idea how I found Simple Plan... The only thing I rembember is that it was when I was in 7th grade, about 4-5 years ago. I liked them a lot and listened to them pretty much. They were never my favourite band, but kept listening to them every now and them.

i remeber i was like 6-7 years old, i had jus moved to a new city and i missed all my friends and i hated it there, i felt so lost. And then Welcome to my life came on the radio, i was so stunned, instant love. At first i didnt know who the band was cuz i didnt hear them say it, i went insane trying to figure it out, then i heard 'crazy' and 'im just a kid'. i finally figured it out and bought their cd, it was the only thing that kept me going. Every song they have i fell in love with instantly, without them and their wonderful music, i dont think i'd be here. When i heard This song saved my life, i just cried and cried. Because simple plan has literally saved my life tons of times. i really hope to see them in concert soon (calgary or medicine hat, ab! )
i love you Simple Plan

Always loved the song Untitled, would always turn up the radio whenever it came on.
But I guess it really was When I first heard Your Love is a Lie, I loved it cause it reminded me in a funny way of my ex when he used to scream at me about my friend -- liar!!! storyteller!!! in his raspy tongue. So when I would sing along I Loved the part when it pauses then shouts... LIE
From there I was hooked

"No you don't know what it's like, what it's like. To be hurt, to be lost, to be left out in the dark. To be kicked when you're down, feel like you've been pushed around. To be on the edge of breaking down and no one's there to save you, no you don't know what it's like. Welcome to my life." The song Welcome To My Life saved my life. I was listening to my iPod on shuffle in 2008, thinking about how horrible everything was going for me, how much better it would be if I were just gone. I was serious about that too. But then I heard this song, very first time I ever had, and I started to cry. If someone could write a song like that, then it must mean someone feels like I did. For the next year I only listened to WTML, the song was listed on my iPod without a band or an album, only the name of the song. In 2009 I gave my sister my iPod to put more songs on, and more songs by Simple Plan were on it. I know every song by heart, I know every beat of every measure, every word that's sang and breath that's taken. I guess you could call me a bit obsessed. But since finding Simple Plan, I've never felt bad enough to consider suicide. Welcome To My Life saved my life, I owe my life to Simple Plan.

The first time that I saw the documentary '' A Big Package For You'' I really got amazed by all the accomplishments of the band and, from that day, these guys are my models of perseverance and since then I'm listening to their faboulous music and I'm a HUGE fan... Hope that I'll meet them soon...

Started when I was in 6th or 7th grade... so 2004/2005... my best friend listened to Good Charlotte and Avril Lavigne and Bowling for Soup annnnd Simple Plan... she played Addicted and I'd Do Anything for me and I was like "Hey, these guys are pretty good" so a week later I begged my mom to take me to the store so I could buy their album, No Pads No Helmets, Just Balls... I listened to every sog on the album, reading the lyrics, and immediately found a connection with this band. Through 7th and 8th grade I was obssessed, Simple Plan pictures covered my binders at school and every magazine that had posters of them I had to have && put up in my room haha... i still listened to them through highschool, and bought their new albums as they came out... I have never seen them live, sadly, but that will change in a year or so... however, I did get the chance to talk to Sebastien one time, it was pretty cool, not gonna lie... I'll never forget that... now, I'm 20 && a junior in college && I'm still as in love with them as I was when I was 13/14.. however my room has changed since then, but they're still the most played artist on my iPod, and my friends and I always blast their music in the car, screaming at the top of our lungs... Simple Plan also saved my life my freshman year of highschool.. the song "Perfect" kept me from killing myself... music saved my life... Simple Plan's music, saved my life... I love these boys... always will... and I will never be embarassed to admit that

Been a faithful fan for 7 years, and will be until the day I die
