Things are looking up in the studio here as day 2 is slowly coming to an end. Yesterday, after setting up all the gear, coming up with good sounds and finding the right tones, David started the show by tracking bass for a song called “Time To Say Goodye”. This morning it was Seb’s turn on rhythm guitar and as I write this Jeff is nailing down the leads… Things might seem a little slow, but it’s actually moving along quite well. The only hickup slowing down the process is the Nintendo Wii that we have here, but more on that another time… For now, check out some pics of the guys, hard at work.

The boys are back home and today marked the first day of the studio in Montreal. No more moving around, at least for a couple of weeks, as the guys will be recording pretty much the rest of the album here. Day one is usually a pretty boring one, as you can see in today’s video.

The day has come! The five guys are all together today locked away in a studio starting day one of the recording process. First order of business is pre-production for about a week where all the songs written for the record will be looked at from all angles to make sure that they are all done and finalized with the right tempos and parts before they lay down the foundation of the tracks with drums. Everyone arrived in LA yesterday and we had an awesome dinner with Dave Fortman, who’s producing the record. The good news is that Dave is an awesome guy and everyone get’s along great so the guys are ready to work. So that’s pretty much the game plan for the next week or so and then once all the songs have been polished, drums will start and only once that is done are we going back to Montreal to record the rest. I’m excited to be around so I can get you guys a bunch of video updates, vlogs and pics. I just got a new fisheye lens for my camera so I’ll be putting that to good use. In the mean time, here’s the first pic of the 3rd record: The whole crew with Dave Fortman, Jeremy who’s engineering and Eric, the guys’ manager. More to come soon!

Good news everyone! In a vlog posted on the Simple Plan Myspace, Chuck and Pierre finally announced an official start date for the studio… Drum roll please… July 1st the boys will be start recording their third album. Get ready, we’ll have a bunch of updates, videos and photos the minute that recording starts..
