We wrote the song “Save You” after finding out that Pierre’s brother Jay was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma cancer at the age of 28. It was Pierre’s way of expressing how powerless you feel when someone you love is suffering.
Thankfully, his cancer is in remission now, but it inspired us to include cancer awareness as one of the initiatives of the Simple Plan Foundation. All proceeds from each download sale of our new single, “Save You” - which was written in tribute to Jay - will be distributed through our foundation to cancer charities around the world.
So, where do you come in? We want to hear about how cancer has affected you or someone you know in your life and give you a chance to talk to us about it. We also want to tell you personally how the song “Save You”
came about.

i personally don´t know anyone that has suffered from cancer, but it´s just awesome how you help people by your foundation and that you always want to be close to your fans and talk to them and those things.

Hi! The song is wonderful. I loved it the moment i heard it. It is helping me get through a tough time while my aunt is waiting to pass away from her cancer. She is being so brave about it. I wish they would have found it earlier so that it wasn’t going to take her from our family.

And now… The song “Save You” helped me a lot to overcome the pain and sadness that I felt for lymphatic cancer that took my best friend. For me has been as an aid to overcome the pain I felt and I’m very grateful that you do songs like that

However, cancer also affected my life : my sister’s high school
friend died of cancer like 4 or 5 years ago at the age of 24…that’s so sad
she couldn’t survive from it…(((

I’m an italian boy and my mother works in an istitute in calabry, she’s a biologist and thinks that this idea is very very great!

i can’t send you a story about my grandfather and about my feelings i dont know why but i couldn’t manage to send it at thnk@mtv.com :(:(:( but i can tell you after that i realised many things and i foun out that sometimes life is nightmare, when your near relation is really changed when he cant anything even talk and you cant either to help him.i remember the final words that i told my grandfather.he lived another city and i told him that i had hope when i saw him again he would be better he told me that he would be but after this i haven’t seen him again because he died.the song save you describes everything well.i can tell that when your family member has a cancer or other disease you dont suffer less than he or she.

It is wonderful to hear songs such as “Save you,” I do not have any family member with cancer, but I am a nurse and although not in the same way as Pierre, I can feel the helplessness of not being able to do anything for these people. Thank you for this song, is of great support and help for people passing through this situation. And Pierre mood! I am excited when you sing this song in the concert of 15th in Barcelona, it was incredible!

C’était tout simplement EXTRAORDINAIRE !!! j’ai enfin pu réaliser mon rêve qui était de vous voir enfin en vrai !!!! 9 a faisait plus de trois ans que j’attendais ce moment !!! et je n’ai pas du tout étais déçu bien au contraire j’ai étais émerveillée !! I already entered. Well I lost a son last april, but he didn’t die from cancer. However, I just has a close encounter with breast cancer, and had surgery on october 31st. I was “spared”, and I hope it was really caught in time (so doctors say, but cancer is tricky, so who knows). Funny how the timing of my surgery and your new video, all seem to happen at the same time. I’m shocked about the syncronicity between Simple Plan and my life (since may 19th, 2008).

ça fait maintenant 3 jours que je vous ai vu sur scène à Marseille et je pense sans arret a ce moment formidable que j’ai pu vivre !!!! j’ai absolument toutes vos chansons dans ma tête !!!
Je ne réalise toujours pas que je vous ai vu en vrai !! c’est comme si c’était un rêve, un rêve dont je me souviens du moindre détail mais rêve quand même car cela me parait bien trop beau pour etre vrai !!!

At the beginning, I was all exited, and thought, woow, I’m gonna do that. Then my head cleared, and I realized that I actually live on the wrong side of the planet.
I know you probaly won’t read this, but I’ll write it here anyway, since I’ve never talked about this before.
People have told me about my grandma, and I’ve seen many pictures and stuff, and she seemed like the nicest person. And always when people are talking about her, they seem to remeber her happily. She had leukaemia. But this was almost 20 years ago, so there was no cure to that at the time. So she got worse, and died. back then I was one and a half year old. And a few years later, they actually found a treatment to leukaemia. So it makes me angry sometimes, that it had to take a few years too much to find that treatment. If they would have found it a little earlier, my grandma could still be alive, and I would have gotten to know her. Soemtimes I feel sad about it, especially when I see that picture of me sitting on her knees, and I didn’t even know her.
Well, I just wanted to tell you about that cancer thing.
And I’m so happy for you Pierre, that your brother is better now

Simple PLan me revoilà !!!! j’arrête pas de penser au concert à TOULOUSE! j’ai retrouvé plein de vidéos du concert, c’était tout simplement ENORME!!!!!! depuis le temps que j’attendais ça, c’est passé trop vite, et je pense maintenatn aussi à quand vous sortirez votre prochain album, et que vous reviendrez à toulouse, comme vous l’avez dit

Hey ! J’étais à votre concert à Marseille c’était trop super !!!J’arrive pas à arrêter de penser à ce concert magnifique, j’y pense tellement que je m’en tape de me prendre des boîtes ! C’était vraiment le plus beau jour de ma vie, j’ai encore du mal à me dire que j’étais dans cette salle… Mais la prochaine fois si vous pouviez venir faire un concert à Lyon ce serait encore plus top ! Comme ça je serais pas HS le lendemain en cours pour avoir fait 3 heures de route au retour. Mais le voyage vallait la peine ! Bref, j’voulais vous dire aussi que j’adore Save You… quand j’entends cette chanson j’pense à mon oncle qui a une maladie au coeur et ca me rend triste parce que je me dis que dans quelques années il sera plus là si les médecin trouve pas une solution…

I was wondering when next years tour-list will be published?
I have never been to one of your concerts, and THAT is my biggest wish for next year.
What has been bothering me is that one of my closest friends, who knows I’ve been a fan for like 4 years, went to your consert in Stockholm on Halloween. And she hasn’t been a fan for a year! She gets everything she asks for. -.- She has been on and off likeing you guyes, and then she suddently go to one of your conserts! NO WAY!
And when she got back, ofcourse she HAS to tell EVERYTHING about the concert.
Don’t get me wrong, I am really happy for her that she could experience a beautiful moment like that, but when she is that kind of person who gets everything she wants + not been a fan for even sixs months is really painful.
I have a really protective mother and we are not that kind of family with TONS of cash.
So that has been bothering me for a while, but I hope in the nearest future that my day will come.
