It’s funny the way things work themselves out… In putting the final touches on our record, we had a few ideas for our cover and we ended up building two different concepts. We had a band vote and settled on the cover that we presented to you guys a couple days ago. We’ve always been a band that cherishes their fans and your opinion means the world to us, you’ve been with us during our best moments and supported us in tougher times. It’s important to us that not only we like what we put out there, but also that you guys endorse it as well.
Since we’ve revealed our cover we have read every single comment out there, from the good to the bad and it’s clear that you guys are very divided. In the end, it’s a little ironic since we ourselves were divided in making our final choice. To solve the problem, we decided that the final say should come from the people that care about it equally as much as we do, you guys.
Here are both covers that we had made. They are both very different, but we stand behind both of them confidently.

Le deuxime je le trouve un peu kétaine désolé
Mais le cover 1 mis a part pierre qui a l’air vraiment de l’avant
j’trouve que en noir et blanc ses vraiment bon
parce que après le tout le noir et blanc représente la noirceur et la gaieté pis simple plan ses des chansons parfois triste mais parfois heureuse

I am sticking with cover number 2. I don’t know the 2nd one speaks more to me than the first one does and i personally think the first one looks odd. The only ones really looking in front of them are David and Jeff.
Chuck looks like hes about to say something and looks as if he cant get out of there fast enough, the same goes for Jeff and i don’t know what is up with Pierre’s hair. And the first one gives me a very depressing vibe.

I vote number 2. Number 1 is a more traditional album cover for SP but I like the change and the color, and the way you guys look on it….number 2 is good…if no one likes the color why not make it black and white?

I like the one you guys had up first cause it looks like you’re taking over. But both look really good. If at all possible, you could consider releasing the album with both covers, or have a reversible booklet inside so that we can pick which one we want to see whenever we want.

Changing the cover will make you look seriously weak but i say this because i understand the concept of the original cover whereas other ‘fans’ don’t.
For looks i would say the new cover
concept and meaning two.
It would be wise to choose the new one as everything is based on looks these days

I put it this way: If I were asked to choose which band I’d rather hang out with, I’d choose #1.
It looks far less cheesy if not intimidating! All members look better in the first and in the latter the super-imposition doesn’t even fit right, you got light shining on David from the left, but the light should be behind them where the fire is! Granted fire is cool, but it’s not really anything to do with what SP are all about, so sticking to my guns, Cover #1!

Défénitivement elle avec la ville en feux en arrière plan.J’aime vraiment beaucoup,et puis je trouve que pour un 3ième album ca fait la job pour un nouveau départ,et vous répétez sans arrêt qu’il y a plein de nouveaux styles musicaux sur celui-ci et je vous croit non loin de la.Moi j’aime mieux celle-ci je trouve qu’elle a beaucoup plus d’impact au premier coup d’oeil. Aussi j’aime beaucoup plus la finition et tout les petits détail qu’il peut y avoir.Parce moi l’autre plus je n’aime pas vraiment cette photo,l’autre photo est milles fois mieux sur celle en couleur.

I think Cover One, though Cover two is a little symbolic how you’re leaving your past behind you and starting over…or even making it through all the flames and come out alive ( :’D Like Claire from Heroes )
I think Cover One is a little bit more mature and you’re previous Album Covers are colourful and it’d be a step away from that, indicating you have changed your sound…And with Pierre’s Jacket in that Photo it looks a little Army-like and i think that brings a sense of Cover Two to Cover One.
Or you could release both?
Either way, I choose Cover One.

I am going to stick what i’ve said before … I’m voting number 2, the one with the fire background.
I love you guys so much and the fact that Pierre blogged and made such a big deal out of that cover made me fight even harder to the ones who were disrespectful and whatnot.
if i really wrote down how i felt right now, i’d be hated upon. Jumped upon and truth is that i can’t deal with that kinda drama right now. I’ve had enough of the drama around that album cover. Still if i were you guys i would’ve sticked with the original concept and tell the haters to suck it up! They would’ve liked it after a while.
But then again i’m in no position to tell you what you can and cannot do so I guess I’ll have to be mature about it and respect your decission, i don’t have to agree with it but i’ll respect it.
I guess you’ll have your reasons to do what you did. I’m just a bit dissapointed that’s all.

well since u guys arent that sure yourselfs which one to choose i’d have to say cover 2 because first of, if i didnt know who simple plan is i’d buy there album cause the album cover #2 would b looking like something new unheard off something good u know?, and u guys look to sad on cover one, most ppl like HAPPY things and creative and unique stuff such as the cover two would make me think “o man this looks like an interesting album im gona buy this, looks like im might like it, but cover one does looks good and all but its to drak and im not feeling cover too much, its cute and wicked but its not as convinsing as album cover number 2, its cool and all but i SAY GOOOOO FOR COVER 2! thats just my opinion right, hope u consider it…sweeet.

Moi j’aime le cover #1 en noir et blanc, mais j’aime la photo du cover #2. Moi j’prendrais la photo de vous de la 2e mais le fond d’écran du 1er. Parce que Jeff pis Chuck on dirai qu’ils ont les yeux fermés. Mais en tu cas, c’est vous qui décidés.

go for cover number one - the black and white.
my problem with the other cover was that you looked uncomfortable, here you don’t.
it’s totally different from your previous album covers (just like the music is) without being cheesy.
but kudos on letting the fans, the people who will have your album displayed in their rooms, have a choice.

If you want a larger, and possibly older, audience, the choice is cover 1– the black and white one. It conveys a respected impression.

the first one! represents you guys very well. shows you guys in an equal light(well, better than the second one), as if you are a band, and not all about the lead singer. i love all you guys and it would be nice to see all of you up front.

um….with the first the fire was a tad weird but with the other one the pic seems like it was a surprise pic cuz both chuck n jeff look as tho they weren’t ready. Maybe u should try a third cover cuz I read some comments and ppl cnt choose. So third times a charm right? Try a third. But If u don’t then I say the fire one.
But I cnt wait for the record I watched u on the sauce n I cnt wait to hear ur record!! =)

Je trouve que le cover 1 est géniale mais le cover 2 est originale avec les flammes autour ça donne une chaleur au cd mais le 1 est mieux par rapport à la simplicité de la vie et de vos vies en noir et blanc !!!

First off, I just want to say that whichever cover you pick I will fully endorse either way because it is the music and yourselves that I love. However, I do have an opinion on the matter. The first concept you released exited me at first-one step closer to having a new album-but then I thought it really didn’t seem…Simple Plan. When I read you had another idea and you wanted us the fans to help make the decision I was again excited. I love the new cover so much more than the original one that you guys posted. It is just so much more YOU. Kind of raw, it makes me feel more connected to the band than the aggressive photoshop of you guys in the other did. I like the older feel of it, the black and white just gives off more emotion. It is hard for me to say which one would be better suited for the album as a whole at this point since I’ve only heard one song, so I based my choice on how I feel about Simple Plan as a band. Just as the name and CD title suggest, the second cover is SIMPLE, just the way I like it.
Hope that over-analyzed opinion helped a little. Just remember that I’ll stick behind whatever decision you make. Can’t wait to actually be holding the CD with the chosen cover in my own hands!

Both covers are really cool, but i think the cover 2 is a little too ”cliché” it look like you think of yourselves as superhero and that you have the bighead. It really is cool but i think it’s a little too mcuh, but the cover 1 is better, you look more like yourselves…. i personnally think that cover one is better guys. Love you very much, see you at your next show at montreal (i’ve been waiting this for so long now!!) Oh and by the way, your video of when i’m gone is awso
