It’s funny the way things work themselves out… In putting the final touches on our record, we had a few ideas for our cover and we ended up building two different concepts. We had a band vote and settled on the cover that we presented to you guys a couple days ago. We’ve always been a band that cherishes their fans and your opinion means the world to us, you’ve been with us during our best moments and supported us in tougher times. It’s important to us that not only we like what we put out there, but also that you guys endorse it as well.
Since we’ve revealed our cover we have read every single comment out there, from the good to the bad and it’s clear that you guys are very divided. In the end, it’s a little ironic since we ourselves were divided in making our final choice. To solve the problem, we decided that the final say should come from the people that care about it equally as much as we do, you guys.
Here are both covers that we had made. They are both very different, but we stand behind both of them confidently.

Le deuxime je le trouve un peu kétaine désolé
Mais le cover 1 mis a part pierre qui a l’air vraiment de l’avant
j’trouve que en noir et blanc ses vraiment bon
parce que après le tout le noir et blanc représente la noirceur et la gaieté pis simple plan ses des chansons parfois triste mais parfois heureuse

I am sticking with cover number 2. I don’t know the 2nd one speaks more to me than the first one does and i personally think the first one looks odd. The only ones really looking in front of them are David and Jeff.
Chuck looks like hes about to say something and looks as if he cant get out of there fast enough, the same goes for Jeff and i don’t know what is up with Pierre’s hair. And the first one gives me a very depressing vibe.

I vote number 2. Number 1 is a more traditional album cover for SP but I like the change and the color, and the way you guys look on it….number 2 is good…if no one likes the color why not make it black and white?

I like the one you guys had up first cause it looks like you’re taking over. But both look really good. If at all possible, you could consider releasing the album with both covers, or have a reversible booklet inside so that we can pick which one we want to see whenever we want.

Changing the cover will make you look seriously weak but i say this because i understand the concept of the original cover whereas other ‘fans’ don’t.
For looks i would say the new cover
concept and meaning two.
It would be wise to choose the new one as everything is based on looks these days

I put it this way: If I were asked to choose which band I’d rather hang out with, I’d choose #1.
It looks far less cheesy if not intimidating! All members look better in the first and in the latter the super-imposition doesn’t even fit right, you got light shining on David from the left, but the light should be behind them where the fire is! Granted fire is cool, but it’s not really anything to do with what SP are all about, so sticking to my guns, Cover #1!

Défénitivement elle avec la ville en feux en arrière plan.J’aime vraiment beaucoup,et puis je trouve que pour un 3ième album ca fait la job pour un nouveau départ,et vous répétez sans arrêt qu’il y a plein de nouveaux styles musicaux sur celui-ci et je vous croit non loin de la.Moi j’aime mieux celle-ci je trouve qu’elle a beaucoup plus d’impact au premier coup d’oeil. Aussi j’aime beaucoup plus la finition et tout les petits détail qu’il peut y avoir.Parce moi l’autre plus je n’aime pas vraiment cette photo,l’autre photo est milles fois mieux sur celle en couleur.

I think Cover One, though Cover two is a little symbolic how you’re leaving your past behind you and starting over…or even making it through all the flames and come out alive ( :’D Like Claire from Heroes )
I think Cover One is a little bit more mature and you’re previous Album Covers are colourful and it’d be a step away from that, indicating you have changed your sound…And with Pierre’s Jacket in that Photo it looks a little Army-like and i think that brings a sense of Cover Two to Cover One.
Or you could release both?
Either way, I choose Cover One.

I am going to stick what i’ve said before … I’m voting number 2, the one with the fire background.
I love you guys so much and the fact that Pierre blogged and made such a big deal out of that cover made me fight even harder to the ones who were disrespectful and whatnot.
if i really wrote down how i felt right now, i’d be hated upon. Jumped upon and truth is that i can’t deal with that kinda drama right now. I’ve had enough of the drama around that album cover. Still if i were you guys i would’ve sticked with the original concept and tell the haters to suck it up! They would’ve liked it after a while.
But then again i’m in no position to tell you what you can and cannot do so I guess I’ll have to be mature about it and respect your decission, i don’t have to agree with it but i’ll respect it.
I guess you’ll have your reasons to do what you did. I’m just a bit dissapointed that’s all.

well since u guys arent that sure yourselfs which one to choose i’d have to say cover 2 because first of, if i didnt know who simple plan is i’d buy there album cause the album cover #2 would b looking like something new unheard off something good u know?, and u guys look to sad on cover one, most ppl like HAPPY things and creative and unique stuff such as the cover two would make me think “o man this looks like an interesting album im gona buy this, looks like im might like it, but cover one does looks good and all but its to drak and im not feeling cover too much, its cute and wicked but its not as convinsing as album cover number 2, its cool and all but i SAY GOOOOO FOR COVER 2! thats just my opinion right, hope u consider it…sweeet.

Moi j’aime le cover #1 en noir et blanc, mais j’aime la photo du cover #2. Moi j’prendrais la photo de vous de la 2e mais le fond d’écran du 1er. Parce que Jeff pis Chuck on dirai qu’ils ont les yeux fermés. Mais en tu cas, c’est vous qui décidés.

go for cover number one - the black and white.
my problem with the other cover was that you looked uncomfortable, here you don’t.
it’s totally different from your previous album covers (just like the music is) without being cheesy.
but kudos on letting the fans, the people who will have your album displayed in their rooms, have a choice.

um….with the first the fire was a tad weird but with the other one the pic seems like it was a surprise pic cuz both chuck n jeff look as tho they weren’t ready. Maybe u should try a third cover cuz I read some comments and ppl cnt choose. So third times a charm right? Try a third. But If u don’t then I say the fire one.

First off, I just want to say that whichever cover you pick I will fully endorse either way because it is the music and yourselves that I love. However, I do have an opinion on the matter. The first concept you released exited me at first-one step closer to having a new album-but then I thought it really didn’t seem…Simple Plan. When I read you had another idea and you wanted us the fans to help make the decision I was again excited. I love the new cover so much more than the original one that you guys posted. It is just so much more YOU. Kind of raw, it makes me feel more connected to the band than the aggressive photoshop of you guys in the other did. I like the older feel of it, the black and white just gives off more emotion. It is hard for me to say which one would be better suited for the album as a whole at this point since I’ve only heard one song, so I based my choice on how I feel about Simple Plan as a band. Just as the name and CD title suggest, the second cover is SIMPLE, just the way I like it.
Hope that over-analyzed opinion helped a little. Just remember that I’ll stick behind whatever decision you make. Can’t wait to actually be holding the CD with the chosen cover in my own hands!

Both covers are really cool, but i think the cover 2 is a little too ”cliché” it look like you think of yourselves as superhero and that you have the bighead. It really is cool but i think it’s a little too mcuh, but the cover 1 is better, you look more like yourselves…. i personnally think that cover one is better guys. Love you very much, see you at your next show at montreal (i’ve been waiting this for so long now!!) Oh and by the way, your video of when i’m gone is awsome!

I lvoe that you guys are taking our opinions into consideration but you know you can’t always please everyone. Though both of them are amazing. I have loved cover #2 from the start & think that should be the final one. It’s different & I love the “We are back and taking over” vibe. It seems to have more meaning in it. So stick with Cover #2!

Everyone: on the first cover, Chuck and Jeffs eyes are not closed, they are looking down. I like it cuz it looks like a random, unplanned shot.. only some of you are looking in the camera and Chuck looks like he’s in the middle of talking. =)
I dont know which one to choose though! when I do, i’ll email it.

#2 cuz of the fire, Pierre is actually looking at the camera, he looks hotter, and his tatoo is showing. And I love his hair. Plus everyone else is awsome too. love the new song!! i haven’t heard anything quite like it. and the music video is very original well. Man, you guys have changed quite alot since the first album. And i just wanted to say thankyou. You guys were the first really punk rock band i started listening 2. before that is was 90s stuff like backstreet boys etc.. Anyway thanks to ya’ll i explored the rest of the genre and came to find my love for classic rock. Also thanks to ya’ll i took up guitar and am now in a band. This is the power of your influence, and just wanted to say thanks again, and i will always love you guys.

Personnellement, je préfère la cover 2 pcq je trouve que la cover un est trop simple (même si vous êtes SIMPLE Plan) ..mais je préfère quand il y a de la couleur. De plus, je trouve que sur la cover 1, Pierre est trop de l’avant, se qi pourais peut-etre offusquer certaine personnes (je ne parle pas de moi). La cover 2 est la premiere que vous nous avez présenté, alors c’est peut-être celle dont vous amer le plus ou bien cest se que votre estin vous a dit de présenter.. alors je crois que cest un signe! Prener la cover 2 ..et j’adore le concepte avec les flames!
P.S: Peut importe votre décision, je pense que se qui compte le plus n’est pas la couverture du CD, mais bien se qu’il contient à l’intérieur (les tounes)!!!!

Ok guys, here is my proposal.
Why not like your SNGA album do two versions.
For example Cover 1 could have just the CD and maybe a poster.

Does the cover really truly matter. I mean really can anyone on this site honestly say they wouldnt buy the album if its one cover or the other. If we are the fans we all claim to be we are going to buy the cd cause we love the music not because the cover looks a specific way. I think going with the 1st cover would be a huge mistake but I would buy the cd anyways. I think we as fans need to let these guys grow, and allow them to take chances. Plus if you truly look at the pictures cover 2 shows the real guys they look better in it minus the background it looks more natural their exspressions look more natural. If someone doesnt know SP and they are walking randomly down an aisle at the music store the 2nd covers going to pop out alot better then the 1st on. I guess people need to realise that you cant judge a cd by its cover. Plus to completly dump over the cd cover they thought they were going to choose is totaly not fan like. Come on people the music is important yes it may be diffrent but all bands need to grow musical. Seriously if SP made all their songs sound like perfect or welcome to my life we would all get very bored. In fact they changed a bunch between those 2 as well.

Salut les gars, i went with the second cover because it really sends a message that you guys are confident and proud of what you’ve done with this record. Also, it is a lot more exciting to look at and sends a positive vibe if you understand what i mean. Although it was a hard choice because i honestly do love them both. You guys look amazing in both of them. Je trouve juste que le premier est un peu moin d’un changement. But it does look very sharp. Bref, ça c’est que je pense. the guys all look good in this one while with the other one Jeff’s looking down Chuck has his eye’s closed and his mouth open. Also Pierre’s hair bothers me in that picture. In Cover 2 they all look good and it seems to fit Simple Plan better and its just cooler….

I really like them both but i guess the black and white one becuase the second on looks more like a movie cover not so much an album. Maybe if you guys Make another “Big Package for You” (which i lost :’| ) then you can use that cover. Im sure all your other fans would appreciate another one ^_^.

I can see why you can’t decide. I think the first one (b&w) is sorta plain (or should I say, “simple”) but if you’re album is going to be self titled it kinda makes sense - but also seems like something for a band’s debut album. The second one is more exciting, and eye-catching. I’m gonna vote for #2 (fire).

Le cover no.1 est vraiment superbe. Le blanc et noir cré un très bel effet. Par contre, il ne met pas tout le monde en évidence. Sté Chuck est encore perdu dans le fond.(Il est cute pareil mais trop loin). Pauvre-ti!lol. Donc mon vote va au cover no.2. Il est incroyable. C’est le premier que vous avez montré et c’est le plus accrocheur selon moi. Vous êtes un groupe et sur ce cover là ça se ressent vraiment… C’est VOUS! Tous unis, enfin prêt à nous dévoiler le fruit de vos efforts! Merci!

SO cover #2 its alot funnier, and its more u guys, the black and white is cool but its not really right, it doesnt fit. Cover 2 is like every1 says eyecatching but also like pow SP and then it has a little superhero thing going on with u guys walking towards the camera and its like wow and its funny too. i would buy the cd no mattter what but ud like it better with cover 2.

I really like COVER 2….I like the black and white one but it doesn’t look like it was the best take. Chuck is barely in the picture and looks like he’s talking or something…it just doesn’t look like you guys were ready.
I have to admit that for the first few seconds (seriously didn’t take long) I didn’t like cover 2 but I LOVE IT now! All 5 of you look great in the picture and it does really catch your eye.

J’y vais pour le cover #2. Le premier est vraiment beau, mais il attire pas assez le regard tandis que le deuxième nous accroche plus. En plus, le deuxième est vraiment beau et original. On voit rarement des cover de CD avec ce genre de fond. Jcrois que je préfèrerais mieux montrer le #2 que le #1, mais ce sont vraiment de bonnes photos ! Vous êtes trop mignons

At first glance you may say number one but once you think about it the second one really shows you guys well. The fire could be somewhat representative of the fire burning in your soul and the background entails how in some of your songs you talk about going through rough times so # 2 is def better. PLUS! The fact that you look a million times hotter in #2 hope you like my detailed explanation! Im so excited for the 3rd album!

Honestly, it’s a hard choice. I’m a fan of both covers. Maybe you could have one the front of the album and the other the back so we wouldn’t have to make such a difficult decision?
Anyway, I thought about choosing #1–and I really do like it; it’s got this mature, grown-up vibe going for it with the black-white color scheme and all–but I gotta go with #2. It represents you guys better, I think. It’s a clearer representation of the direction you want to take this album in–you’re changing and you’re passionate about doing so–and it shows.
Still, you all look damn hot on #1. It’s such a hard choice… I can’t really decide.

First One! MOST DEFINITELY! The one you originally put out was just…to /Transformers/ I’d say. I dunno, I just really didn’t like it, but I felt terrible saying it…still do. But anyways, the other one is /amazing/. It’s refined and beautiful, and shows more of a growing up side to your guys. Yes, I truly adore the first. That’s my vote.

They both are really good and have their pros and cons. I like both pics, and #2 in color, and the background is neat. The pic on #1 is, what i think, a better close up one. but the black and white and the sense of it makes it feel and kind of look like your past albums (hard rock cafe, SNGA.)

well.i like them both in a way. but i think the flames one is better.it has more meaning for me,like you said pierre,youre back! and youre blowing up the scene,its more powerful.the black and white cover is a nice shot too,but it lacks meaning,it looks like youre in the dark,which you shouldnt be,your fans bring you into the light and you do the same for us,ultimatly i think this should be your decision though,because,you know yourselves and the new album better than anyone,simple plan has never compramised before,and theyve never been willing to step aside and let other people take control of their lives,thats what makes me love you so much,youre positive role models.I think the flames pic represents you more,fuck the haters,the true simple plan fans will stick with you know matter what.so dont hide in the dark

well it’s probably one of the hardest choice i’ve ever made……both covers look GREAT!!!!! u guys look soooo awesome in the two covers.
the first one: it is kind of more mature and artistic. u guys look really cool in it. i love black and white by the way, so maybe that’s the reason y i think u guys look cooler here

My album cover choice is definitely cover number one. The newest one. This is because it shows a little more of the simple plan I remember, and it’s exactly what I think everyone was looking for. It shows the real & true simple plan that we all know, and it shows the great evolution you guys are going through with your music at the same time. I think with this backround it represents the importance of the self-title a little better. The fire & stuff on the other cover is kind of demeaning to the self-title, and the altogether importance of this album as well. Aside from all of this logical thinking (haha), I just simply love it. I love it like I love everything else you guys do. THIS is who I know.

I personally, dont think it should be about what you look like. I think it should be about the meaning & stuff. Like, the black&white one shows more of the importance of the self title, and the importance of the whole album.

I am having trouble with Voting with them because I love them both. The first one is awsome because it shows the simple plan that got me listening to Rock music. like seriously Simple Plan was the first rock band I ever herd and I fell in love. I love the second one because it’s new, it’s showing the change that has been going on on the quite moments of simple plan’s life. Either way i’m gonna buy the album, i might buy like a thousand b/c I love you guys so much!!! Whatever Album Cover you choose it will be awsome.

Is my favourite.
It catches your attention and it’s SO different from the album covers I’ve seen recently. It’s always the same thing.
But the whole fire and fake-ish looking thing just completely stands out and catches your attention right away. You see it and you’re like “WOAH!” and I just think it’ll catche people’s attention and even get you new fans.

I would have to say CD #1. Black and white is always the classic way to go and in this case I believe would fit with the new cd you are realeasing. The reason I am not picking #2 is because of the background. I guess it looks too computerized for me. Although it is a great group picture of you guys the background isnt really something I am a fan of.
So CD#1 is my choice
But know matter what you decide remember it doesnt change how amazing and helpful your music is going to be to me and many other fans out there. So whatever one you decide on works for me

the black and white rocks guys. the flames pic looks like a really bad boy band cover. no one would take you seriously based off the cover alone. I know I sometimes buy what I call “impulse finds”, I buy them soley off the artwork and hope the music turns out good.
I would never buy a record with the flames pic if I didn’t already know your music because I’d be expecting 4 part harmonies and sappy love songs written by Diane Warren

In a perfect world, I would go for photo no 2 in design no 1. But that wouldn’t work with the actual framing. The thing is, I like the confident attitude you guys are having in the second picture, but I hate the sci-fi background. And I totally LOVE the b/w cover. Much more mature and sophisticated, which I think was the whole idea of this record to begin with. I just think that picture no 1 doesn’t do a lot of good for Jeff and Chuck… Even for Pierre who seems to be posing for an ad or something. I don’t know, guys. I get why you would hesitate between the two but it’s obvious to me you should go with cover no 1. If only for the impression it is leaving that you guys have evolved into something else than action figure heroes with this record. My thougths anyway.

And cover #2 looks like you guys stand united. Cover #1 shows that only 2 of you are looking straight at the camera. the rest of you look like you’re off in your own little world (hint, pierre chuck jeff)
But i’m going with what Taylor said: have the flames pics on the front, and put the black/white one inside. that way, people can just change it whenever they want to.

It really makes me sad that you guys decided to leave this up to the fans. Maybe you wouldn’t have if some of the people who commented had left constructive criticism and their own opinions instead of just flaming it to pieces (no pun intended).
That aside, I hope the fans didn’t offend you or make you feel too bad. People have a way of forgetting manners and empathy when online, and go a little crazy when so close to their fandoms.

Both covers are nice. Cover #1 is more understated and cleaner. It has sort of an edge to it. But Cover #2 is all about the Simple Plan that we know and love. It’s you guys to a ‘t’. And some things are better left unchanged in my opinion. So I prefer Cover #2. I like colorful things anyway. And it’s rapidly growing on me.

Well the black and white is okay
but it has some weaknesses to it.
I mean it’s just like “Oh hey we’re Simple Plan
and yeah here we are”. But the other looks
more confident. It like “We’re Simple Plan, We’re back
and we’re starting anew. Here we are Ready kick some
Serious ass!” They are both great but I prefer Cover Two
you just look more confident. Especially because you guys have
been away for a long time.

honestly i like both of them!! but it seems to me that the number two is more you guys….so i vote for number two but i think that chuck and jeff look little bit awkward on the first one…soo can you add different photo of chuck and jeff? that would be great really…if i was chuck i would say that i’m really unhappy about that
for the cover everybody have to look hot;)
